NEW DELHI: Google on Monday created an interactive doodle to commemorate the birthday of the late legendary Norwegian ethnographer and adventurer Thor Heyerdahl.

The internet giant has created one of its iconic illustrations to pay tribute to the man who recreated a Peruvian raft.

Known for leading the Kon-Tiki expedition of 1947, Thor Heyerdahl was born on 6 October 1914. The Kon Tiki expedition was inspired by old reports and drawings made by the Spanish Conquistadors of Inca rafts and by native legends and archaeological evidence suggesting contact between South America and Polynesia.

Barack Obama criticised foreign governments for not stepping up their response to the West Africa outbreak. 

The likelihood of an Ebola outbreak in the US is "extremely low", Mr Obama said, but "we don't have a lot of margin of error".

More than 3,400 people have died in West Africa in the world's deadliest outbreak of the viral disease.
Mr Obama's comments came six days after a Liberian man became the first case of Ebola diagnosed on American soil.

A video has been released showing the purported leader of Nigeria's Islamist group Boko Haram dismissing the military's allegations that he is dead.
In the video, Abubakar Shekau says his fighters shot down an air force jet that went missing three weeks ago.
Last week, the military claimed a man posing as the Boko Haram leader in videos had been killed and in August 2013 said that Shekau may be dead.

Additionally, child of  the late Tijjani Hashim, Galadiman Kano was named 'Dan Isan Kano'.

Sanusi, who proclaimed the activity in his royal residence through the weekend, clarified that it was as an aftereffect of the demise of Tijjani Hashim, Galadiman Kano, which gave space for substitution.
